Vector outboards

Does anyone know where to get spares for these? I'm after a new carb for a 2.5hp. I've been in touch with Terry Wright @ Vector UK and have been waiting for said part to arrive since last August/September with no joy. Its got to the point where he won't answer my calls so does anyone know of somewhere else I can go?

cheers

Dave.

Send a message via MSN to Tris
I am sure Yamaha 2.5 will fit as they are Yamaha copies.

Thanks for that Tris, indeed they are supposed to be copies, but not very good ones in my experience! Having started this thread I did receive a carb from Terry and in his defence and indeed to his credit he sent me carb FOC. However it turned out to not be a new one! I fitted it and it promptly leaked fuel from the fuel tap and when I took it apart there was salt corrosion around the rubber sealing mechanism. I sorted that but the motor still ran like sack of s**t - exactly as it did with the old carb! I could get it to run quite well but as soon as then engine angle changed it would play up. By that I mean if I turned (as in steered) Or altered the trim angle it would play up as if the float level in the carb was wrong. I tried all sorts but in the end gave up.
I hate to admit defeat but this one got me!!

Cheers

Dave.
