Hi All,
Started making the parts for the exhaust system, modified some bearings to make a swaging dolly for the press to make a cool collar and water injector, also made the turbo outlet flanges.

Hi All,
Made a little more progress with the exhausts, made a mock up with cardboard, fibreglass and stainless steel i then brought them back to work and used filler to form the shape between the round and oval pipe.

Hi Graham,
YES!!!!! but i only wanted to work with SILICON......... sadly the only silicon i get to play with is the hose on my new exhaust installation, made lots of parts this week from carbon sheet that Ben & Nick from Carbon Weezel laid up for me, also drilled the cool collars and made the hose tails these have now been tacked together and trialled.

Hi All,
The stainless part of the exhaust has now been fully welded and is ready for ceramic coating. I mocked up all the raw water cooling pipes in a mixture of silicon pre-formed hose and carbon fibre tube, these are large bore to allow a geater volume of water through the heat exchangers and the charge coolers.Vein type water pumps become very in efficient with back pressure. Also made a carbon fibre bracket for holding the battery master switches.

Hi All,
Long time no post.... been very busy on various projects!!! also the weather has not been too kind down at Hamble Point so progress has not been as fast as i would have liked. Don't mind working in the cold but i draw the line when it is P...ing down with rain!!!!! I have been keeping Nick and Ben very busy at Carbon Weezel making carbon bits for me the quality of their work is excellent:up most of the parts have been trialled so i can do the fine fitting and drilling prior to them being returned to Carbon Weezel for laquering.
MDL needed the space that my boat was occupying last week so it had to be moved so i was able to check the centre of gravity and i am pleased to say that the lightning work and moving the engines has moved the centre of gravity much further forward than i thought possible so she should now fly nice and level.
Had a bit of a disaster with the carbon fibre tubes that i made the coolant transfer pipes and oil coolers from sadly the quality of tube was not up to the manufacturers claims so i have now remade all the parts in titanium needless to say i will not be using that particular manufacturer again.I will soon be removing the engines to finish of the rigging, have also been doing lots more work on the fly-by-wire- steering system, Carbon Cheetah is still getting a little bit of attention so she is not feeling too left out...

Made foam patterns of new design of low drag raw water pickups these will be skinned in carbon fibre then attached to the transom, also trimmed the engine and header tank covers these are now ready for Nick and Ben at Carbon Weezel to apply the lacquer finish.

Tidy test rig, Peter, and I appreciate the guitarlike curvacious back plate as well as the inspiration that came from the background photo to the right.
