What boat?

Hi there looking for some advice. I am looking for a boat that does about 65mph / over 50knots is diesel has a bit if a cabin if I want to stay overnight but needs to be okay in the rough stuff. I had seen Extreme 26 Diesel as an option any other ideas?

Hens teeth spring to mind... Very little out there that is diesel and will do that type of speed let alone for a reasonable budget. I guess that is why people take to repowering boats like the fella on here who has put a diesel in a cougar 27.

Most fast off-shore boats are american and tend to be petrol V8s (Donzi, Baja, Formula, Cig, Velocity, Hustler etc). There are a few old sunseekers kicking about but strong money and wont do those type of speeds. A few Ribs too (scorpions etc) but again, strong money.

This looks like a good shout but is the exception, not the norm and a bit marmite. http://www.boatmad.com/forum/showthr...highlight=baja

The reality though is that unless you plan to use it v regularly or can find an Extreme (not many about), probably better off with a petrol. More to chose from and cheaper to maintain from what I gather. Best of luck

Thanks for the reply The Docta. The problem is that a lot of the places I want to use it dont have petrol in the harbours. The only real one that seems to fit the bill that I know of is the extreme just wanted to see if I was missing out on other good boats?

New or second hand?

If new Ring Powercraft still do the 25' Sports Boat or the 25' Ranger Day Cabin. Same hull just a different lay out. Both capable of the speeds you want with the right lump. Best of all made in this country....
