Windermere boating

Just had this sent out - lots of warning.

Interesting that they mention Speed Records week when it appears it is happy at Coniston.

But maybe some options...

The Lake District National Park Authority, LDNPA, is considering amending the Lake Windermere Bye-laws to allow it to grant exemptions to the 10mph speed limit for certain specific events.

These could include Motorboat Rallies, Powerboat Racing and Speed Records Week.

The LDNPA is conducting an on-line petition to gauge response, where if the for’s outnumber the against votes the new ruling could be in place by as early as this year.

This is a huge opportunity to begin to restore one of the country's best boating venues for motorboat and sportsboat use.

The petition ends at midnight today, Monday 19th March, and it is vital that we get this message to as many people as possible to gain the most votes. To find and complete the survey please visit- www.surveymonkey.com/s/wmere2012

For further information on this bye-law please contact Emrhys Barrell on 07703 218906.
