Year of ring

Hi guys how do I find out what year my ring is ? Also I bought it advertised as a 21 but unsure as it could be a 20. It has a notched transom. Thanks Lewis

Hello Mate
There should be a registration plate behind your screen or in hull area

If not there then it will be in your back where ski pole usual goes

That should tell you your year and size of your craft
The builder of The craft Mike Ring usual puts theses in those locations

If you can't find it post a few pics up on here and someone will probably no size and year by looking at it and there loads of Ring owners on here that will help you

Cheers
Chris

Earlier Rings didn't have serial numbers. From the mail I had from Mike, the earlier boats were usually tracked by owners, colours, design etc. Serial numbers only started getting used on mid/late 80.s builds.

If you do a search on here you will find a fairly lenghty discussion on the subject.

As a reference, mY Ring (a 21B) has no numbers at all.

Cheers
Dave

I had a Ring 16 with a Notched transom and stepped hull...

I think the notched transom thing was more an early 80's thing going by what i found out about mine but that was a 16 so...

Mike did tell me that the notched transom thing didn't last too long because the boats tended to get "flighty".
