Found myself googling the route, and discovered that the true heroes of CMC 2013 might be the support crews... Here are the distances by car:

Cowes - Brest 600 km (373 miles)
Brest - La Rochelle 435 km (270 miles)
La Rochelle - Santander 619 km (385 miles)
Santander - Corunna 457 km (284 miles)
Corunna - Cascais 636 km (395 miles)
Cascais - Cadiz 607 km (377 miles)
Cadiz - Almeria 458 km (285 miles)
Alemeria - Valencia 472 km (293 miles)
Valencia - Barcelona 349 km (217 miles)
Barcelona - Marseille 506 km (314 miles)
Marseille - Monaco 225 km (140 miles)

All in all a total of 5364 kms or 3333 miles... Blimey... You'll find me in a boat, then

ere TD, you're trucks going to need some fuel to get around that course. I'd ask the team for a % in advance

1900 km from Oslo (Norway) to Cowes, and 2300 km from Monaco and home... Bearing in mind how the cars looked after RB08 we might as well set them on fire when (if...) we reach MC...

I suspect not, and its currently an underfunded one man team, so there aint no "you" or "we"

Ray Bulman, who reported on the race in 1972, has just dug out this wonderful pic of that very beautiful woman Princess Grace of Monaco presenting the Monte Carlo Gold Cup to Mike Bellamy and team. Lucky beggers.

Mike tells me that every single trophy was stolen including THAT gold cup from a friends house four weeks after the race never to be seen again.

So we have to start from scratch re Trophy's. Any ideas/offers would be VERY welcome. Rather you PM'd me on this one.

I have no idea but I had a velvet jacket in grey and went to the RYA powerboat awards at the Earls Court Boat Show in it in 1984. Thought I looked pretty neat at the time but then again I was just a young lad of 45!

It's interesting to read on various forums both here and abroad that many racers are looking seriously at long distance Endurance/Marathon racing as the way to go in the future. As long of course as there are people prepared to put them on!!

So what goes round comes round and we could be getting back to the heady days of the 1970's and 1980's.

Yes Mike it was a wonderful day and Princess Grace was such a beautiful lady, as you can see you couldn't wipe the smile of my face, she ask for help with the Gold Cup because it was very heavy.

Mike B as said that all the Trophy's were stolen, but I have some of them, only 4 of the minor one's but Eddie Chater must have some to.

In only three weeks twenty-nine race teams have committed to taking part. Today we have our first Fast MotorCruiser who wishes to be part of the Cruiser Rally.
