What about the September race for the Needles Trophy which is part of the Marathon World Championship? I therefore assume another club must be organising it but I know you have the trophy?

We are working on a plan to use the Needles Trophy in late August, but this race will not be Poole base, should be based in or around Southampton.

Entry form on it's way from Martin Warren in Double 2 Shirts, lets hope it's third time lucky for Martin in Poole, as he made muster last Saturday in Torquay, and crossed the start line on Sunday, so we are all hoping to see it cross the finish line in Poole.

I'm going to the club later this week so will check the post bag and give you an update over the weekend.

We've had interest from 3/4 3b's, 3/4 2 litre(BBC-2), 3 V24's plus 4 marathon boats.
The first 11 entries will cover the RYA annual/race fees, we then need a few more to cover the cost of trophies.

A really good event and like to support it - but wont have a boat this year. All the best with putting the race on and hope people get out and race.

Amazing how mnay race boats must be going un-used!

Powerboat Racing Rules are published on the RYA website: http://www.rya.org.uk/programmes/pow...cingRules.aspx

See RYA PB1 Offshore Racing Rules, Rule: B6.1, para 6: "Competitors with no previous racing experience are required to undertake a Powerboat Race Training programme prior to an Event Licence being issued".

There is no training available at this event.
