*2 x Volunteers* Required for Cowes

Officer of the Day for this years Cowes Classic is currently looking to recruit two volunteers to his team, both roles (detailed below) are to help ensure the smooth running of this prestigious event, both are based at Cowes.
If you are interested and have some spare time to offer over the weekend September 5th - 6th for either of these roles, please message us here (or PM me at Boatmad) with your name and contact details and the role that interests you! We will forward them on to Rob Andrew the OOD for this years races. Many Thanks.

Role 1: *Chief Marshal*
In advance of event, liaise with Marina staff to prepare berthing plan bearing in mind size/shape/idiosyncrasies of race boats.
Throughout the event, act as link between marina staff and race organisation.
Ensure adequate safety arrangements (eg fire fighting appliances) are in place during event.
Help marina staff identify legitimate (race boats and listed safety boats) boats entering BPRC area of marina and reject others.

Role 2: *Bosun*
Collate a list of all equipment required in discussion with race officials (flags, load cell, trackers etc).
Arrange for equipment to be supplied (order additional flags if required, liaise with RYA to get load cell to Island etc)
Ensure equipment gets to the right place at the right time during the event.
Collect and where necessary arrange return of equipment after event.

Can't commit to anything of that magnitude, but my other half and I are happy/willing able to do some voluntolding that weekend as / when needed. I'm pretty good at general office work, he's just generally man-handy....

I used to use Tony Fiddy as Chief Marshall!!!! Knows his stuff though but likes a good argument as a certain Markus Hendricks may remember - among others!

Probably beneath him now as he is an RYA Commissioner.
