According to The Met Office it will be a 6 gusting 8 on Saturday - should make the jet ski race worth watching!

Yellowbrick Tracker URL
http://yb.tl/cowespowerboat2012
This is the Yellowbrick Tracker URL for the 2012 Cowes Torquay Cowes race.
(At date of post 21/08 it still shows last years race, this will obviously be updated by the weekend).

Carl - Are you free that day ??? Seriously, more likely that a rough weather course would be used, if needed.

Lay Day
There is no Lay Day on the Monday.
We have had a lay day in place for 2010 & 2011.
For 2012, once again rules have been tightened.
To put in place a lay day now is akin to running a separate race - with all that is involved, Harbour Master permissions, RYA Course Approvals etc.

Weather forecast taken from Bournemouth echo, which is normally quite good, and as can be seen it looks like a really miserable bank holiday weekend, just typical of the British weather
Saturday 25 August ----------- Sunday 26 August ---------------- Monday 27 August
min 13.0° / max 18.3° ---------- min 12.2° / max 18.6° ------------ min 14.2° / max 17.4
Wind 24.2mph ------------------ 15.0mph ------------------ 17.3mph
Rain fall 24.1m ------------------ 3.1mm ------------------ 12.9mm

Charts earlier today and this afternoon show a weak ridge of high pressure trying to push back in to the south coast early Sunday, the winds definitely weaken as the day progresses!!!

That's just too much!! A lay day just used to be a paragraph added into the racing instructions, what has happened to change that? So, now "lay day" is a banned expression?

Probably only a disclaimer to not start criticising it on a public internet forum if you can't see your favourite boat. (I'm joking - Mr Holmes. )
