Its run by BIBOA (British Inflatable Boat Owners Association). Its based at The RLYC, & run on Sat 29th Sept. The course, depending on sea conditions, takes boats out thro' Hurst To The Needles, north towards Highcliffe, then east, passing North Head Buoy, back thro' Hurst into western Solent. I thinks its about 5 or 6 laps. Total distance less than 80 miles I think. All powerboats RIB & hard accepted. Contact Chris Strickland (Seahound) for more info, or access BIBOA's website.

All looks good for a great event - will get an entry form filled in and sent off to you.

Whether to race as a RIB (R1) or a sportsboat (BCC1) - will have a think on that!

If anyone can accomodate an extra crew member for The Lymington Challenge,
I might be able to fulfill my ambition of actually being IN a race, rather than talking about it, or just observing !
I would obviously pay my way, but have neither helmet nor life jacket !
I'm an extra useless person, but if any very accomodating owner/driver can help an old fool wreck his back again, then I (think I) would be grateful !!!

Lymington Challenge Marathon Race

I met with the race committee on Thursday evening and they have agreed that Marathon boats can enter. So we propose a short race of 2 laps similar to the Cowes- Poole- Cowes course, total distance about 60 miles. Be really good to see as many Marathon boats as possible.

Just a thought. Who's up for a slot on Martini? Fuel and entry fee might do it.
I am having withdrawals after Cowes and need to convince my wife this race is a good idea. Help! I neeeed.
