we were using a 30et prop its got a sportmaster gear box (i have no idea what ratio it is). it has a flat pad, we got 87.281mph but it was the first time we have used this prop and we think it has got a bit more speed in it.

ive got a ring 18, which, although i know there not the best hope next seawson to ski race
running a 225 promax with a sporty and a 22.5 et, so one hell of alot less pitch
and the best weve ever seen was a shade over 75mph
but that wasnt with me driving

about the boat

we can run such big pitches because the boat is so light. its made from kevlar and weighs very little. unfortnatly that means no climbing over the bow/ windscreen (because u will fall through). in the nz river races (2-up) we will run a 28 et, very slow out the water. 75mph out of a 22.5" et is good, good luck for next season.

Watched your boat run at the kilos, looked good

Couldn't beleive how cold it was that day.

I see the Force boat ( konika minolta) with the 250HO clocked just over 92 mph

The 2 Skaters were awesome to watch that close to shore and with a run of 136mph nice and quick as well.

kilo runs

yea it was stupidly cold that day. i know the guy who drove konica well. (he fixed our gearbox because it blew a propshaft seal that day ). the boat on parole should have been running 92/93 but had an injector problem so could only get 83. i was supprised at the speed of the big cats.

Changes Under Foot

Hey

With the start of the ski racing season we have decided to buy a new engine, the 225 promax is going and we are getting an evinrude 225H.O etec.

However we have encounted absolute dramas. The brand new engine came from ozzie in a shipping container, NZ customs has decided to seize the container. Why.... we dont know but time is ticking and its getting close to NZ's biggest ski race and were really not sure its gonna be ready...

Getting a new engine seemed like a good idea at the time.

Antic.

Not good, but at least with the Etec you can bolt it on and go racing.
No need to run it in.
Biggest hassle we had was proping ours. You will probably be able to use your 30" prop and still get 2 skiers up.

We have just come back from NZ to Aus after loading the B23 mould into a container. Hope we don't have customs hassels our end.

Good luck for the Bridge to Bridge

cheers, we shouldnt have too much problem with prop selection as a friend of ours has 8 at last count, but i think he bought another et.

Were gonna have to spend a day on the water testing which is the best for boat only, 1 - up and 2-up.

Kiwi racer,
Yeah that was the plan.
When we bought the Family Boats B23 some interest was shown by a few people in Aus re getting a B23.
Talked with Mark and Ocke about buying the mould and getting a licence to build which was all good.
Then I went and crashed our's so now I have a fair bit of work to do to convince people they are okay.

Yet more drama!!!

So the container was released by NZ customs and unloaded, our engine was on the paper work for the container but when it was unloaded there was no engine... It was still sitting in australia. So because of this BRP NZ has paid for it to be air freighted over.

Hopefully we will have the boat by this weekend! our mechanic has said he will have it rigged and run in a day, so we can start using it asap!
