1984 'Round Britain'

This morning, the postman brought yet another fabulous, historical video for me to watch, copy and post.

This time, it's the Sowester documentary of the '84 round Britain race, and was sent to me by Mike Lloyd ('Old Man' on the forum)

The video is in great condition, and I will post a 'condensed' highlights version as soon as I've edited one together, watch this space.

In case some of you haven't seen the last R-B video, here's the condensed version of that:

TV coverage of Round Britain

Round Britain DVD

Can't wait, that's it, not going out tomorrow until I've watched both of 'em. If you can do them that quick I might abuse your kindness and send a couple more?

I guess he just needs to track down the owner of the copyright and agree terms with them. After all, they must have put a huge number of hours of graft into a production like this, so it wouldn't be right to just nick it.

Hmm, so I'm not alone in wondering about the apparent disparity between this and the 'helicopter video' thread then!

Who said anything about supplying, or selling videos?

Assumption is the mother of all ****-ups, remember?

firstly, Sowester, have to the best of my knowledge, been gone for a few years now.

Secondly, I've converted an old ragged VHS to DVD for Mike, and may, ..do a short highlights video for the forum. Not offering them for sale, with, or without a Chaudron sticker.

I aint...claiming it to be my design, and I aint..making any money out of it, come to think of it, all the videos, all the events, running this forum/website, etc, has done nothing but cost me (and Matt) money, for nearly 4 years now, and I've never made a feckin bean out of it!

So.... 's

I donít see what all the complaining is about. We are only copying a video which is 22 years old to stop it deteriorating and itís a special bit of powerboat history. It is my video, bought and paid for all those years ago and I personally suggested to JF that after copying it onto DVD for me that it might be a good idea if it was posted onto Boatmadís server so that everyone could enjoy it. Jon thought that it would be a good idea. No one is making any money out of this, only trying to add to the enjoyment of the site. To those interested parties who would like a copy I suggest that you contact Jon direct and providing he agrees to do it that you pay him P&P and thatís it. Why should he be out of pocket? I do have several more fantastic powerboat videos from the late 70's and '80's which I will get copied regardless and you would love to see but I will hesitate to ask Jon to do it if this is the kind of reaction he gets.

Actually, your post has reminded me.

Add Chaos to the list of people who've given feckin plenty to this forum and it's members, with less than nothing in return!

He's still a nob though!
