yes, and no, lets face it, the boats Chaos, Streako and I have bought are no more than kids toys, I happen to have a very old IC engine to throw in it, and have just ordered a 2 channel RC (cheapo) so no big bucks spent here.

just a crack

I'm off to watch telly (not in my room of course, coz i iz not allowed one innit) & scheme up some fake injuries that';; stop me from competing right at the very last minute!

However one rule i think you should all enforce is a 'STANDING START'.

Your not actually going to put that old motor init are you. It will be more hassle than its worth. I hope your RC stuff was very cheap cus when it sinks it will get wet

I'm well used to heavy, smokey, noisy, underpowered engines, but have no suspicion that this one'll be unreliable. as for sinking.....I think a wee water proof box may be in order, was running that one round in my head already.

What were they out of dude?

I might bring my technigold along and swap it out cus I've only got one motor and its not fair

Whats mr rob got in his

Question for motor experts: Will the magnets in my technigold have gone weak over the years? I got that motor in 1986 and it hasn't run since 95. They still feel strong when its turned by hand.

No idea dude, mines 35mm diameter (smallest one of that type) but I dont know what pitch. My 540 turns 15,800 no load but with a load I havnet got the foggyest what it turns and its such a long time since I used it (15 years) I cant remember wether it souded like it was reving out or bogging down. If you have two motors you will want bigger props I guess. Plastic/nylon ones are well cheap, less than £2, so you could buy a few and go prop testing
