I was planning on putting an IC motor in it. "IF" I win.
If I don't win, could just buy a new'n, they're 80 quid.

Did you get to see how it went with the new prop before Matt broke it?

I think she may have overheated in a big way.

so which nobba leaned it off to much. or was it allways too lean on the main needle but wasnt a problem last time due to not being able to rev it much?

It's a water cooled merco and running very rich. So not that susceptible to damage from lean running.

We were gradually leaning it out to get the revs up & bring it on the plane - it didn't actually get on the plan cos of prop slip, but I'm wondering if as the prop cavitated, no water was running through the motor. Once the prop gripped and started slinging some water around properly, different kettle of fish.

I see, bummer. If the prop was slipping alot then motor would have been revving a fair bit and with not much speed due to the prop slip not much water would be picked up by the scooper!!!

I "think" so. The mid range was very lean, and since we didn't have a screwdriver with us, we richened the main needle up enough to keep her running through the midrange. It was only just 2 stroking flat out.

The next question is, what motor to put in this.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...tem=6027149563

I'm not fussed about enya/os/webra etc. It's designed for an OS 21 (the IC version is anyway), so 30 (I've catually got a BNIB OS32SX in the loft, but don't think they made a water cooled head for it) would be nice but can't find one I like, so am looking at an SC 40.

Anyone know of any good drives that'd work?

OS are very good motors, they have a reputation for ease of setup and holding their tune!!!

Yeh, but it's earmarked to go in 46" span swing wing tornado!
It's the most powerful motor you can buy in a 25 size case, AFAIK.
