Ha Ha - I was right, a merco 61.
Not reknowned for being the most powerful in the world - but at 11cc, who cares, probably still half a horsepower.

When it last went it had a micro switch for the motor control so the throttle was on off. When I backed off the front would stuff (even on a mill pond) and the water would roll over the top (doesn't help that the motor is right at the front). If you got back on the throttle at the right moment you could submerge the whole boat. Doesn't matter though as the two hatches on the top are secured with insulation tape so the boats completely sealed. This time it will also have a speed controller so I will be able to ease of the throttle, see if that helps. Battery pack is going as far back as I can get it this time too.
