An early shot of hull plug production of the AquaVITE 23 - originally she was going to be an out and out raceboat - but has now been totally re-designed as a race / sports boat.

23', double stepped hull, 4 to 5 seat cockpit.

yes - but that would be top secret!

quite a few differnces to my previous stepped boats - although some features carrying over.

I would say the step arrangement is 75% raceboat, whereas something like the Technohull 999 is more 60% raceboat. In terms of trying to get the speed benefits of a stepped formation - but at the same time keeping good all-round handling and relative ease of driving.

Always going to be a problem I'm afraid - have a potential issue with one of my foreign designs coming up I think. The thing is that I have worked really hard on planing hull research for many years, from my college days onwards, developed my own craft and carried out many development projects and no doubt spent a lot of money in the process - so get pretty protective over my work. There are ideas and developments going into my craft that are unique and more to come. Not saying it is the only way forward and great to see others trying there own designs and ideas.

Some exciting times ahead!

Have to give a bit away - but fairly carefull on selecting photos that cannot be scaled, give step positions, depths, rocker etc

Nice, at first glance it looks similar to the Atlantis we have, although the rear-planing pad looks a bit narrower?

Certainly some similarities to the Atlantis - although a touch more aggresive in the lines. There is likely to be a RIB version of the hull as well, which will be a 7.5M. The same yard are building some other of my designs as well.

The boats are being built a British company in China! Using experienced labour and also a very highly respected material supplier / system. I'm hoping to go out either August or September to check out progress.

Will be bringing a few boats into the UK to thoroughly test.

On the Atlantis front - still trying to find the moulds - had a European company contact me this week about producing them - if you hear anything.

Pretty much - certainly over steps and top sides. More compound curvature in the bow - but even there I find that the plug can be mostly sheeted and then filled & faired.

Hull plug is pretty much complete now and being prepped for taking off of the mould.

Deck plug is now progressing,
