Actually I reckon that for a small, heavily laden boat on an extended offshore passage, an average of 20 knots is a pretty good figure to work on.

Top speed, lightly laden in good conditions, is likely to be pretty much irrelevant.

Given a really good weather window they could certainly make better progress, but if it's shitty they could be load slower.

The above is all hypothetical of course, assuming a boat that actually floats.

I prefer to think of it as realistic rather than evil.

Anyway, as we're all discussing Bogi behind his back I think you and the Evil Dictator™ should unban him and let him give his side of the story.

It's not behind his back, he can read it, and I think it's pretty public knowledge that everyone from the developed world thinks this attempt is foolhardy. I think it was quite kind hearted of me to say I don't want to see him or his crew dead - I'm not entirely sure the sentiment would be returned. Oh, and I'd actually, genuinely like to holiday in iceland sometime, think it'd be really interesting.

The guy I feel most sorry for is Gav, since if he puts his name to it and it fails, it's bad publicity, and could even have some form of accoutnability. And if he doesn't put his name to it, irrespective of success of failure, he'll be seen as not supporting his product. So he's screwed either way!!!

Its the Beeemer engine I dislike the most. Offroad you want the F650 and onroad you need the K12.

Now the one problem with going quick is the good old bike kicks up & hits the padded area.
A classic case of "Monkey Butt"
