I actually don't like the newer skaters. In the flesh, the deck looks very flat L-R and very very curved fore & aft. hard to explain what I mean

Have to admit I think the Skaters look sort of crude next to a Nor-Tech (and no, it's not just because a friend has one.)

yeah, just look at all that lovely balsa core!

I was surprised to hear from 'Speed' that Skater didn't in fact build the high end race boats for Mr Lycra! I was certain they did, and am also certain that they built the Buzzi/Fountain that's over here now.

When I say 'high end', i'm talking the very highest level, ie, fountains own 'works' owned or sponsored boats, not the run of the mill F-II or whatever they run over there now.

Why hasn't 'Speed' posted a pic of his beak yet?

I guess Martha Stewart is busy decorating it. She is an ISO 9000 company you know. Whatever the hell that is?

'Cat' did post some pics of his boat once, or come to think of it, he may have emailed em to me.

But I've definitely seen pics from him of a red three pointer thingy with a Big Block Ford in it, 460 I think.

He seems to have vanished from OSO, Speeswake, OffshorePowerboat etc. I wonder what has become of him?

In Miami last year he was telling me how he was making his fortune by dealing with stocks and something to do with the "Jolly Pipster" - some get rich quick thing!

Must have made so much money he hasn't got time for the rest of us now .............

He's still a regular poster on OSO as "licence to thrill".
