Illegal ...and shoddily built, ( the ones that I have seen )

But then , thats amateurs for you.

Its a good job that most true enthusiasts can tell the difference between something Steve , Terry or I have produced and would not be seen dead in Ersatz but lookalike hulls.

Shakespeare purchased 3 designs in the 70s and produced them successfully for a time.

i know
ive had stick about owning and 18ft ring
over a phantom, bernico ect
but now with the plan of upgrading to a shorty xr2
installation of a bow tank, and the rest of the setup sorted
im lookin forward to embarresing a few of them
and possibly using it for a few open class ski races
if i was you mate, id buy a 150 to start off with, jus to learn
and get used to the boat, as you said your 18, im 19, and wouldnt have wanted to jump straight in to my boat with a big engine, aso what steering have you got
if your after an engine ive got a mariner 150, with offshore mid ect for sale if you fancied, sure i can sort out a good price if you want

I've bought a Trailer (Freewheel 1814LB) and an outboard. It's a Mercury 150HP V6 Black Max, i think it from 1982 but i dunno for sure.. Has anyone an idea for a good prop ? (i haven't one yet..)

If you still learning i would go for a Laser II probably 21" or 23" - very forgiving prop..
