There was one of these Bonito 27 racing around mid 80's never really achieved much ran with either 2x150 or 2x200hp...when I did some boat building with Dave... geriatric on boatmad the guy who did the building for us had loads of moulds from loads of boats collected from customers over many years and there was an old bonito one there, I think it was the one used for a very early rib however I do remember them saying it was not quite straight and the spray rails were also just not quite...this may of been because it was originally a Revenger splash or even a splash of a Bonito...I think Dave actually did buy the one left up in Ferndown in the early 90's so he may tell you more

it's strange looked many times at the Bonito 27 in the 80's and until Gordon you pointed out the simular lines to Revenger I had not really noticed...strange especially as one of my favorite boats of the mid 80's was the revenger sports cruiser

The back end is like the bonito but looking from the front, the lower hull is very revenger like?

How old Gordon is the original Revenger hull as in the sports cruiser of the mid 80's...guess I never thought about the Bonito as a splash as they appeared at the same time in racing...or at least I noticed them at the same time...secondly was it not the whitmarsh family who made both this and that 36ft they used to market against the old 34 Sunseeker...surely if they did splash this as in those days Bonito was trying to be a bonified company it would have caused an outcry and made there marketing look stupid?

Revenger started building boats in 1980.The only reason i agreed to buy the first rib was because when you and i were out watching the sportscruiser race, it handled rough water so well.

ye they were great days Gordon for watching offshore, you did say after watching the Revengers race and they often won there class in those days you would like to buy one and I must admit that first ever rib really did fly after you and I believe Neil H did a bit of development work on the set up on the 200hp engine...are you still onward going with your USA buisness plan?

Perhaps I should Pm you this is turing into a chat so as not to bore other forum members
