Bristol Half Marathon
Myself and JBD completed the Bristol Half Marathon yesterday!
Managed to find a pic of me so far but not JBD as the offical photos are not yet posted.
Heres one of me for now (far left green vest).
Will post some more of both of us as I get them.

Excellent and well done - what times did you guys do?
Did a 1/2 marathon once years ago and knew then that running and me don't go too well! Proved it again this weekend with the Isle of Wight Triathlon, after pretty OK swim and bike I went backwards through the field on the run!
Cheers

I managed a 1hr 35 which is slow for me but only had two and a half weeks training.
JBD did around a 1hr 55.
What distance triathlon did you do?
Got a triathlon next weekend with BadBoy from the forum at Langport.
Swim time is fine around 7.10 for 500m, cycling will be the weak link this time as not been out much, running should be fine on 5km
Got disqualified from the last triathlon for jumping a red light.....Doohh!

Tri was 600m swim (Poole), 35 km bike (some big climbs) and 7.5km run (flat).
My overall time was just over 2.04 which not too pleased with. Really should have been under the two hours but with a run time of 40 mins .... As said not a great runner but that was really poor!
Going to have to find more time (from somewhere) to get fitter.
Sounds like you are a pretty useful swimmer!

That sounds like a middle distance tri to me.....well done for finishing it.
With the running you just have to keep trianing really, and trying some shorter distance at a faster pace.
I have been doing 6-9 mile runs with mates who are on Mountain bikes, we normally set a course then race around.....bloody good training.
My swim Bike and run is all about the same level really, just at the moment I haven't been out much on the bike.
Busy three weekends for me: Bristol half, followed by Langport Tri, followed by Torquay skirace......then bloody rest for a while :-)

It had been going quiet well going up to the event - but just not enough left after the bike - got to get used to doing more endurance as well. Most of my training is 30-40 minutes grabbed when I can.
Anyway - will catch up with you at Torquay - need to to have a chat with you about your business products etc.

Yeh no problem......will be good to meet you.
Try using Citurmax or Viper turbo form Maximuscle uk, both very good products for endurance sports, forget products like lucozade they don't do shit!
How many tri's have you done? but just be a question of pacing yourself!

Has anyone done Blenheim or Docklands Triathlons. Did my first at the young age of 42. What a buzz when you finish.
Only learned of the isle of white tri on this site love to do it next year.
Well done to all

Probably true about the pacing - need to get more serious about training in many ways as well. Only my third tri and have had some health problems last year (2005).
About time to join local tri club I think!
Have had to change diet a fair bit and although it has helped a lot with sport I have probably lost a bit too much weight now. Approx. 6kg lighter than last year without trying to loose weight.
Will check out supplements as well.
Many thanks
Adam

The IOW event seems to be going really well. Very well run and friendly but getting more serious all the time. Certainly noticed the levels had pickup up since I did it two years ago.

This is a piccy of me at Afan in Wales one week before the half marathon. 29 miles off road, 3 hours 41 minutes ride time, approximately 4 and a half hours total.
