Having spent 3 months working with the Malay navy in Lumut, I can catagorically say there are almost none at all in that bit of the navy - they are all Malay originals, the only ones of Indian heritage I saw were driving the lorries - and they weren't in the navy - maybe it's just the airforce?

But no matter how fast or good a plane is only as good as its ground crew, its no good on the ground in pieces or put back together badly.

One of my expat drinkin buddies worked for McDonall Douglas and he once took an F18 up for a test after being serviced by Malaysian ground crew. He put it into a roll and a ratchet n socket came out from under his seat, smacked him in the face and then into the canopy - nearly lost the plane.

Not making any judgements there but the Malay armed forces are made up of Malay's with something like 90 percent Indian origin.

With the Migs no more problems than the F18´s here...until we fixed F18´s to work even in cold.
Yes there has been some landing and engine problems here with them.

Su 25 & 27 are more of a bomber/ground attack fighters and therefore bigger and not thet nimble than the best of them all the Mig-29/33.
