Ever since Glenn told me you had a chopper up I have been waiting for these. any of Dry Martini and Uno Embassy?
As an aside, the CTC film boy's refuse to include Uno Embassy in the CTC film as, according to Sky, it's cigarette advertising. Unbelievable, especially after all the hard work by Rob & Mike to get the boat to the line let alone the expense! However, the rules regarding cigarette advertising are very strict.

Helicopter pics
Mike
I had the helicopter for about 2 1/2 hours which generated a lot of Apache oriented footage from the start to Portland and a little into Lyme bay. Unfortunately Uno is not there, a little of Dry Martini, Bounty Hunter, Cinzano and swipes. We are going to edit the footage this week then look to make it available to anyone that may be interested. I still have more photos which I will post when I work out how to get them in the right format... and I thought Chevy's were a challenge!

!!!! Absolute PC nonsense! Uno Embassy was an integral and highly successful part of the event. To simply edit them out means that the film will not be a true record of the race.
All the more reason to make a DVD available which hasn't been hacked about then?

Makes you wonder why they can`t pixelate the name like they do car number plates,or would it appear a bit cruddy.

Good point Graham. Political correctness is slowly destroying everything!! If people are going to smoke, they're going to smoke - no footage of a classic class 1 boat from yesteryear is going to make an ounce of difference. But that's just my opinion.

Do they still make them? Can't recall seeing any lately on tobacco stands at newsagents...
Anyway, could be the Swedish Embassy, Chilean Embassy, Russian Embassy....

Do you smoke the bits of trees you cut down during the day, or is your tobacco available in Tesco?

"I cut-down trees, I wear high heels.."
Don't get the chance to be a lumberjack very often these days, John... I'm usually managing projects and have contractors do all the tree felling...
and i don't think you could smoke them... though we do get people trying to grow some interesting botanical specimens in the woods that are reputed to give a somewhat jovial, mellow and interesting effect when dried and smoked....
Anyway, what I meant was, do they still make Embassy fags? ...maybe I'm just not very observant.
Presumably, unless people were specifically told that Embassy was a brand of cigarettes, (or WD & HO Wills were mentioned) those contemplating taking-up the nasty, vile, filthy, life-threatening, anti-social, growth-stunting fire risk... would be none the wiser.
..and therefore not influenced in any way...
Going now.
Gasping for a fag...

CTC Video
Can anyone advise who owns the rights to the raw CTC video footage which Sky are editing to produce their programme?

Thank you John, as I thought. I recall an earlier post which noted that the BPRC didn't sell many DVDs of the event last year because presumably most people blagged it off Sky.
Is there any chance perhaps of making the raw footage available on DVD (ie without editing, commentary, music etc) at a reasonable cost? Maybe this could be done via pre-order or expressions of interest to assess the financial viability?
I've always wondered what happens to the hours of historic race footage which ends up the cutting room floor, never to be seen again.
