Ooo, I like that inside pic. I wonder how those side members got a crinkle each. Am I seeing rivets or wee spot tacks?
How the fek do you just 'stumble' across a boat like that!?

They probably got a crinkle after the boat hit huge waves and then land on the stern, several times. Old boat

I don't think the creases are damage, or fatigue. Look to me to have been made that way, they're very uniform.

Damn Crinkles
You knew you would lure me into this Jon,but those crinkles or local buckling as we say in the trade are in the same area fore and aft as Debenhams had, only there a local stringer was added to the chine bar to stiffen the area up.I see the port side has some too, once it passes the chine bracket.I didn`t think P1 tested the boats like the old days, unless it`s been done some time.I would get a stiffener added across the topside flange before going in a 1500 mile circle.

I guess this is the EX 558 boat in readiness for a new fitting out, what engine drives will be in it for he RB 08...out of interest what were the old rules this boat raced under in Class 1 as I cannot remember fully, although I think they allowed 16.4ltr Petrol engines and 32.8ltr deisel with a reduction for forced air induction petrol weight 4500Kg deisel 5000kg but as I say I may be wrong

OK guys just found 2 more CUV's for sale
Thuraya is the ex-Sun International of Stefano C 80000euros with transmition but no power. The only 39' built (apparently)
Now the other IS 558 ....................... a 38' no power but transmission.
The one just arrived is in fact EGO ROTHMANS !!! 50000euros.
So some great news and some disapointing.............

38 Cuv
A few pics of Eric`s toy in a previous life.I see you are uncovering more CUV craft Tim,but I can never understand why the larger CUV hulls are called 39 or 40ft,unless the Italians cut and shut them as is their want. The drawings were made for a 41ft hull, and lengths of boats are quite often mis quoted in the entry lists/comics.Eric`s one was down as a 41ft in some write ups.Marco has advised me some more history re the della valle boats, and what a minefield it is.I never realised he had so many with different engine configurations in the same seasons.I should leave the country now Tim,unless you want the full history rammed down your gullet.Tin hats gentleman please!

39-40-41 Cuv?
A bit more info for you Tim,taken at Brighton.Paul Picot-white,Pinot di Pinot-Yellow,Sun Int-Red.All CUV 41`s.If the white one is moved slightly aft,you could argue they all line up.I was told at the time the yellow one was ex-Muira by an Italian crew member but I had my doubts and Marco has since confirmed it was a della valle boat.Hope you haven`t left the country yet!
