Not to start with, not sure that we need it to be honest, tho if we don't see the speed we require then maybe we will experiment a little.

No plans as yet tho.

Late nights

It was another late one last night.

We are flat out trying to get this thing finished, the machine shop is up against it as is the polishing shop.

Some Stainless steel hoses are due in today along with the seats.
Ski pole was trial fitted last night as was the water pick up.
Both are now at the polishing shop and should be returned tonight.

I don't how this would ever be finshed in time if I had to buy all these parts rather than manufacture them to suit this hull.

Don't know about skiing this weekend..........I'll need the bloody rest

So tonights list of to do's is:

Fit seats
Position and fit 3 way diverter valve for bow and belly tank fill.
Wire trim tabs/fill with fluid and test operation
Wire bilge pump / fit switch and lamp
Fit control cables for trim indicators and engine trim.
Collect Shifter parts from Engraving shop and rebuild/fit.

Tomorrow's list is far bigger!

We have been let down on the trailer manufacture so will be borrowing a 26ft roller coaster trailer for this weekend

Nice wok Jon

I wish my welding was as good as that!

It really does make a differance not just for strength but visual as well.

Really happy with the fab shop I use great guys there that have really helped out over the last week to push things through.

They usally get a drawing e-mailed over in the morning and I collect the part that afternoon after work! not many places that will give you that level of service, but without them I would have had no chance of getting this boat finished for this weekend.

The machine shop is also top class, again churning my bits out on a 1 day lead time, last night I dropped off some bits to the owners house at 11.30pm to be machined for pick up today.

The polishing shop (sometimes more expensive than you think ) also turn my bits around on a 1 day lead time, dropped off the night before or in the morning on the way to work then pick up in the evening all nice and shiney

It is nice to have the contacts when you really need them.

Well I think all the bespoke design is done for now.........Phew!
I think the trailer was the hardest to design and draw 7 pages of drawings for that.

Will post more pics as I pick parts up.

That's virtually unheard of, especialy when the word 'Marine' is in the equation! A very valuable asset.

Hang on to that supplier like your life depends on it.

Boats looking great mate. Any idea when you're gonna get it wet?

Yes it is very hard to get people as good as these on board.
I have been dealing with them for about 10 years now so have a great relationship with them.

We are planning to take the boat out tomorrow night to swap the trailers over and give it a quick blast.

Cheers for the comments really happy with the layout and the rigging just not 100% sold on the shape yet!!! (fussy Bast**d)
Guess when I see it on the water it will look better, it is really hard to tell close up what it will look like + it is on a huge trailer at the mo.

I have been out behind the other one that was built (the white one) great boat that really does flatten the water out well for the skiier and is really good in the corners (pretty much the same as the Bernico)

This one has the vent box connected (to vent the prop on holeshot) plus we made a few suttel changes to the rear step for some extra speed.

Guess the proof is in the pudding as they say, so i will get a better idea of the boat when I drive it.

I am hoping to make the GB team for F2 at the worlds in Belguim (if I ever finish this bloody boat)

Ballast tanks on this boat can hold 650kg's of water so it will be very well suited to racing in the canals whilst still giving me the skiier a wake (hopefully flatter than the other F2 skiiers

The breathers and drains for the bow and belly tanks are 1 1/2" so filling and draining should be very quick for changing water conditions.

Shifters

I will be picking up the shifters this morning from the engraving shop.
Will post some pics before I assembly it.

Waiting for control cables (33c's) to turn up today so that we can fit the shifter and trim tab indicator's.

Engine trim indicator has been designed (plunger style) and is currently being made at the machine shop (5 off for this weekend).

Do the tabs start life as Dana Tabs, or parts thereof?
