Great pics Olli - Certainly makes the Excel show look a bit conventional / boring!

Really looking forward to my visit.

I don't think the MSA drive was particularly well suited to the Hunton, as it's a near surface drive, so probably doesn't allow you to dial in the bow lift needed for a straight 'V' bottom to give it's best, especially in the calm. But, of all the things that let Garmin down on it's RB adventure, I don't think the drives were on the list.

Engine mounts, turbochargers, rigging, drive plates, throttleman, etc, etc, all failed, but to be fair to the MSA's, they didn't break (to the best of my knowledge) they just weren't very well suited to the job. I also belive they weren't set at the ideal height.

I think you have included all the weak points in the Garmin boat Jon!
One drive failed one last leg, but after it had retired. Oil seal failure. They were fitted at the wrong height.
Boat is now back "home", we have gutted it and it is being rigged properly with new engines, drives, tanks, in fact everything really!
Ian deserves a proper boat after all his enthusiastic hard work last year.

I think I know what you mean by the term "splashed",
this picture shows just after releasing the deck from the original deck mold in Norway. (You might have SeaFlyer in your mind ?)
Best regards
