Delta 28
Sorry Tim i have to disagree. (A) Delta 28 was designed by Sonny Levi not DS and (B) I thought it was a stunning looking boat (Before that pointy bit was stuck on the front) Don raced it in the 1966 Cowes-Torquay. Anybody know what happened to it???

Blu fin you are a pain !!!!!!!!!!!!! and correct...............Don design the funny bit on the front!! AND stupid me Sonny designed the boat........how embarassing..................
I believe they, the Gardner boys kept it and last I knew it was in their barn at Bolney...........
However I still think before and after the funny bit it looked odd/ugly.......Thanks again

I think no Nigel. I asked him if he wanted made an Enfield Avenger,Uno or Uno Mint version but he answered me that one model it's a sufficient quantity.
And I understand him.

I lived in Bolney for 16 years and never did find out where the boat was (and Bolney ain't all that big!)

Don Shead
Don has now retired, having handed over his staff working in the Sunseeker Tech centre to Sunseeker in the past month or so. He is now into light aircraft, (he got over the helicopter bug many years ago). He's not been overly well, with a big operation just around Christmas time, but still as full of life as ever. Keep meaning to go over and visit him but always lacking time. Not much chance of a book I am afraid as far as I know.
His legacy in fast boat design will always be apparent in whatever you look at from fast superyachts such as Fortuna 1 and Sassurro down to Sunseeker, Revenger, (with Lorne's input) etc.
Have to say that of all the boats I have raced, and there have been a few, the most fun I had was in the 38ft CUV Paul Picot with Marco Riganti in the Guernsey Worlds in about 1990 ish. It was as rough as you like and we just flew over the most enormous waves down towards Jersey running about 100yds behind Fabio in his Cessa mono, (which was much bigger with more horsepower). Think that we finished third or fourth overall at the end of the three Championship, behind Fabio and Steve, as we had a DNF in the last race with a blown turbo. Got a great video somewhere...

I know this is a little off topic, but does anybody know how fast that Cig ran with the jag motors?? I know the John Davey cougar ran at over 140mph I think, but never heard any numbers for jag powered mono´s. Just curious.
ps Blue Mist - great pics!

'Waterfront'
A mate of mine (Pete Rowe) built the motor for it in it's last guise, twoz a Nickelson McLaren. Recently seen on ebay, as a rusty lump of junk. I think the boat was scrapped. PJC will know.
Them Bonner Jags look like as much aggro as they obviously were!
