A running shot - probably around 30 knots.

She is still running very level, but starting to generate about as much lift as you would want. Any more speed and more stern lift would start to change the balance.

(remember that test day well - winter, freezing cold and very windy day on the Solent!)

I did have some discussions earlier this year with the Serters about working on a much larger version - but as of yet that has not happened. Just checked and my original drawings for E7x are from middle of 1999!

I think there is a lot of potential there - and also quite a few developments on the theme that could be made.

Really is an area of design that interests me greatly. Just think that so many of the large motorboat builders are doing so little to improve efficiencies / handling of their craft (hull forms) - at a time when values are changing and we do have to make progress.

When I see the average today’s average cruiser running along at 25-30 knot generating waves the size of a house, transport efficiency is not the first word that springs to mind. If need any assistance on this project let me know, I can run the hull though our CFD panel code for free if you want.

Many thanks and will be in touch - certainly got a few developments and ideas I would like to go onto next year.

At the moment a real busy spell of customer designs - but got to think to the future and drive forward some new ideas as well!
