Burty, nice paperweight you made there! Are those Mahle pistons cast or forged, I was looking at a set of them on S&F was wondering which they were.

Who did you send your block to, JSRE? Was it expensive to ship it, who did you ship it with?

Sorry for all the Q's and your misfortune!
Would it not have been cheaper to buy a block and rotating asy.?
There was a 280 shortblock on S&F for $2g not so long ago.

Alan

dunno bout pistons but they stopped making them 10 years ago!
yes gone to JSRE cost £350 each way to ship used acompany that we always use at work so got a good deal called secure cargo.
after a hour conversation with Jay we decided this is the best way rather than getting a long block / drop on as you still dont know bout pistons, rings, bearings etc plus having a lot of mods done no point having it rebuilt back to standard is there

just had another email maybe all is not lost,

Rob

Have a lead on several blocks ! Keep your finger's crossed !

jay

well apart from more fekkin expense.

it seems i did a very good job of fekkin it up.
from initial look and thinking a plug lead had fallen off it now seems the only thing thats any good is my ECU, electrics and crank
everything else is wanked

flywheel: 7 out of 12 magnets cracked
stator: merc had a recall on this type cus they were too big
front half: got hole in it
block: got hole and now cracked and unusable
heads: damaged and need machining
pistons: well ones defo wanked and bloke doesn't want to use others
rods: again one is buggered and others wont fit on the new pistons
reed cages 2 are damaged and unusable

is there anything i've missed???

o yeah plastic flywheel cover is ok
