Having just taken a sincere pill - the boat looks great but isnt the design a bit dated?

What’s hard to understand, the boat looks great, but isnt the design a bit dated... i.e.: the boat looks very nice, but no cutting edge thinking out of the box design innovations have been employed or have they?
this should coax you into replying either in the affirmative or negative...
do you understand now?

You didn't make it clear whether you were referring to dated styling, or hull design. More than happy to have a discussion regarding the merits of hull design, but you can drop the patronising tone. What is it with you anyway?
Non stepped V-hull design hasn't really changed much. It has a warped hull, which as Jon notes should be a nice soft ride in the rougher stuff, against a constant deadrise which is typically harder, but has a greater ultimate limit for recovery.
The original magnums are particularly deep V, and are known for really only running up to about 70 comfortably. Beyond that they start needing firstly monstrous power, and they appear to run out of handling beyond about 80.
The arrow hull has a pad which means as long as it's got enough power to get up onto the pad, it's proven up to almost 100 - if you search on Youtube you can find a video of an orange one at 96.7, running rock steady. That boat has 871 horsepower, and with a bit more tuning should break 100. It currently runs a 32" Bravo 1 prop, which I believe is slightly under propped and the intake temp on the motor is too high losing it a few hp too. There is also one in the works with more than 1000hp going in. I'm hoping for mid 70's performance, well within the proven capability of the hull and perfect, in my humble opinion, as a fast pleasure boat.
Too often, "out of the box" thinking on hull design ends up with something that is either ugly, shit, or both. The successes are very few and far between. But what do I know, I'm just a humble computer programmer.

Regarding Eraf
reminded me of May 2007 ...
"I just got back from Napoli and had a wonderful special experience on Friday morning, 7.30 am, mooching round the dock boat sheds, close by the castle.... and seeing... Eraf... perched on a shelf 10 feet up. She looks fantastic covered in a 20+ year dust patina. She made my pulse run and I will remember the feeling as much as much as when we 'shut the door' on Outerlimits, 2 days later (yesterday) on."
