Hi John,
Thought somebody ought to give you the courtesy of a reply!
Don't remember that much, but Double Century was in the London-Monte Carlo in 1972...
I'll see what I can find... Graham will probably help!
Here's an ad from Powerboat & Waterskiing and Part of their race preview:

Double Century
Boat was also in CTC Race in 1972. It must have been at that race that I remember a party of I think Japanese (probably journalists) being crammed aboard, incl. in the aft cabin, & being taken for a "jolly" out in Cowes roads.
How much those in the aft cabin saw I often wondered !
The craft was not in '73 race, so it must have been in the '72 CTC, after the L-MC Race.
Double Century is/was a Sherry producer, who sponsored the boat, incidentally.

I`m afraid it was Martin,it retired. It was also in the 1973 Marbella races.
To list the boat`s race details is possible, but all this sort of thing takes time.

Thanks folks but its no big deal its just that a friend of mine mentioned it was for sale ,original engines etc.I can chase it up today as i fell down the cockpit hatch into the bilge on Horatia on Sunday after returning from a bacon sandwich event on another boat.
Damaged right knee as that was still on the deck and the rest of me wasnt.
cheers John.

Take a couple of weeks i expect but have been keeping it moving today as it seizes up otherwise.Have to go in to work tomorrow without fail as we have a fire engine of a type which is the only known example in the world in for repair and they cant afford it so we may purchase it for the club.

Found another Beken original in the attic (similar to that posted on Historic / "Thunderbird in storage" thread)
Sorry, for those who don't know the boat, it's Enfield Avenger (Built 1971) driven by Tommy Sopwith that year - but more famous as Unowot and then the "reserve" Uno-Embassy...

What elegance that boat!
The original version with Sopwith is what I prefer.
