Volare II
First one ended up being embedded in a cruiser during the swanage 80. Boat under tow but no tow signal hoisted going across the course volare goes for the gap see rope at last min, crunch into the towed boat. They were locked up like a couple of gipsey dogs. When seperated just of the boat par cruiser sank and volare was still floating. I know I have some pics but I cant find em at the moment. The cruiser sat in the boat park for years then dissapeared.

The Puma was built one year earlier! Ray Stapley who was on the RYA Technical com at the time understood the situation, and came up with a similar idea on our cat in 86. Instead of fully boxing in the front of the cube he inserted what look liked bilge pump outlets. They were actually attached to a hose that ran to the underside of the sponson and forced air out!
