Never seen an exhaust on a boat so exposed like that!

I am not sure that would be aloud to be like that here in the UK would it? I would want to be tossed out hitting that either.

The cold water splash must surely effect them and make it look like a steam train in rough water!

Good old Volvo motor!
Hey how about a Volvo 2.3 Turbo T5 motor? It would sound even sweeter!

There is no problem with the exhaust really, but it will rust, doenst mather what i paint it with, i will try to get it coated perhaps that will help.

It doesnt splash so much water on it really.

That is the only solution i can run on this boat anyway, and the exhaust needs to be exaclty that lenght, and i dont se why its dangerous really?
Just avioid hitting it on the way out

In my class i can only use 1.3 liters if i wanna go turbo, but we are simulating and Suzuki 1.3 16v swift engine in a computer atm, 300+hp.

Really nice pics....
Looks like a cool class to run in...is it only petrol only class or could you use diesel as well?

Think the pics are great too, sorry to hear of the injuries not very nice hope you are rearing to go soon ... but it's great to see some innovation away from the norm and over 80mph from 210hp guess it's that much quicker than a V24 due to the V24 coming in at around 500KG heavier although it has 320Hp to push the greater weight as JF says the running surfaces are very similar I wonder if the wings are the same size and produce a similar lift

The design of the wings does not look the same, but i dont know what the main difference between the two hulls are.

We are 1200kg race ready i think, and we make over 80mph then aswell.

Thanks, im glad you liked the pictures, and im recovering pretty fast.

I suppose it would be interesting to know what nose cone you have used, what the gear ratio is, drive height and how you have arranged for the raw water intake?
I looked at a project sticking a VP D3 in a light weight rib 2 years ago, and was wondering what x dimension I could get away with?

The nose cone is home made
Gear ratio is: 1.98
Water pickup is is relocated to the boat.
It has a KingCobra shaft
Spare cooling water from the engine is used for cooling.
And the air supply to the propp is also home made after alot of testing.

I have to check Drive height so i dont give any false information

Anyway:

I got in toutch with the people who had the heli in Roslagsloppet and they agreed sending me a DVD with the raw material and also a few photos.

So i hope to beable to post it here in a week or so. IF there is any good fotage. Here is a few movies that you could watch while waiting if you like:

I finaly got some raw film material. Nothing fancy but pretty fun to have.

From Roslagsloppet 2008.

I suggest you download it cause the quality on youtube is pretty poor. Its only 33mb.

Should definately do something with a swift engine! I was looking into putting one into a suzuki samurai/sj413 (the small jeep)... the canadians are into tuning the G13B (i think thats the number) engine..

A company called Turbine Tech have been getting around the 220hp mark from the engine with a turbo on, I can get you their contact details if your interested?

Awsome looking boat btw!

andy: The swift engine we are looking into would produce arround 300-350bhp. But that is a expensive thing with alot of development behind.

We have 220hp with the N/A today, but seeking alittle more torque after 6800rpm and a few extra hp.

Now we are taking the N/A 2000cc engine a step further so we can dominate once again to the summer, after that, perhaps swift turbo?

Found a few nice pictures today:

All the pictures belongs to Daniel Olsén, i hope he didint mind that i hotlinked his pictures, they are all so beutiful....

Well, along time since i posted anything here. Main reason is that we have been working hard on The bat23 and the Arrow 830.

First test run with the BAT went really nice. We did 82mph with pretty low ignition advance, a dirty and not waxed boat, missing 40cm speedrail in the rear, and with the 26" raker

But nothing comes cheep, something went bananas with the valve clearance so i hade to work pretty hard on that to get it running to our Poker Run.

Same goes with the Arrow, had to change engine and alot of more work.

But we managed to get both boats to the starting line. Weather was pretty bad, some rain but not much wind.

Im still kinda scared running the boat since the crash, so i thought a Poker Run with kinda calm conditions would do me good.

I was so wrong, we had the worst tripp in the BAT ever! Half of the distance was disaster.

Trying to run that freak of a boat in 2.5-3m following sea was nearly impossible, and it was no long gaps, i think i smashed her up pretty good on the way over there.

We had more time under the water then in it. Some quick repairs after the lunch stop and we where ready to go back home.

Heading directly in to that sea was so much better, and the waves was not that big on the way home. But still, the sickest ride ever. My engine died 3 times cause of the water flooding the webers.

I dont think i could have done anything else in the following sea, since they where to fast and to much of a gap to ride on top of it, and surviving that.

I chickend out in the head sea, the accident still reminds me about how fast you can land up side down and how much it will hurt, if you survie it.

I think next time, i will do better since i feelt pretty good in the end and picked the speed up about 10 mph.

I found this in the news papper, its right before and after our first card stop: http://www.vk.se/media/?clipid=3397

Some pictures of the day (only ego pictures, the rest can be found if you are intressted)

Battle with my Mates Eurocat23 with a 225 Merc on. Relly fun.
