Is the boat the Nick won OCR several times consecutive in?
Jon was right it was Nicks old 19, the first one built, then sold to Martin Fisher. Martin hit the bottom as he stuffed it at Ramsgate in 2000, going to the muster area and the boat sustained severe damage. Martin lost his confidence and after having it repaired, rented the boat to Iain Sanderson who came to grief in it at Cowes as seen on the video.
Nick won most of his championships in an 18. His 18`s were very sought after and Iain Sanderson bought one and went on to win several championships in it. He then sold it on to Ian Mackman who raced it for a couple of years and by now it was well and truly f**ked. I suspect that this was the boat down at Nicks. Nick also used to set up Mark Priestleys boat which was an all red 19, that used to spend a lot of time at his yard.
Hope that helps.
