I always thought it was a safety issue like the allowed top speed in P1.
Its not uncommon for the honda guys to be in the water waving their arms.
Not something you wan't to be doing when your mates are charging around at 80-90.
Plus a lot of boats close together.

when i was in cogars just after xmas they said the cat was running in the 90's out in turkey!! im not sure about that, but it looks awsome!! though they did say that you cannot see a thing, as it was heavily modified from a turkish hull that was open cockpit. as for the honda 225 mono hulls i worry about geting in them doing 60+. aparently during development of the 225 mono they tested one with a xr2 and got into the 70's but was incredibly unstable.

The cat is a development from the Cougar Sportcat 25, like all cats its a little wet at slow speed, once you get a bit of salt water on the screen visibility is fecking crap, and it currently has no screen washer system fitted. When you get going with a clean screen its OK, I have been in worse.
Runs fairly good with a single Honda 225
The hull design is currently suited to the flat water they run in Turkey so many modifications are about to be done to make it better for the Honda series, also a new cockpit/canopy system will be built.
Never had a XR2 on 225 boat.

just going off what iv been told, but i supose powerboaters are very like fishermen in that a lot of details on how big the fish was are cr*p!! never beeen tempted to experiment with a 225 hull with a two stroke then!! or would that not be a good honda advert??

Im sure if you popped a decent race motor on the back they would easy see 80's.
Has anyone though of buying one, changing the motor and racing it outside of honda series (class III maybe)?? or would they just not compete with the Bats?

Now that is intresting!!!
I'm keen to see how that boat will run in testing
Dont fancy their chances with a 300 against 2 phantoms though particularly Taz's pusing over 500

thats a lovely shape hull!
I think that would go really nicely with 350 mad efi jobby or 300 Drag!
Gel looks a little flat though, asif it needs a good polish.
