Just as an interesting and hilarious powerboat based aside, I was up early on Sunday (i may have the wrong day here) and there was some sort of powerboat racing from Liverpool on the tele. There were 6 teams, who had to get round a series of buoys in a simple figure of 8 or something like that.....and one of the teams was driven and navigated by women........they take the lead on the opening straight.....and then go straight past the first turning......nobs. apparently the navigator, or the "cleaner" as i like to think of her was making hand signals, but the driver or "cook" said she was "on a mission" and didn't bother listening. this should be presented as evidence as to why women shouldn't be allowed to use machinery.

These ladies might have been able to manage figure of 1 racing. clowns. although watching it almost actually enticed me into getting into a boat.

I would actually definitely do a boat trip on the Thames - that sounds like a laugh.

Well you might find that a lot of classes that run short courses with a chicane (OCR/Honda/Zap-Thundercats etc) miss the percieved 'first mark' some times the second otherwise they start throwing in protests or dummies out, one of the two, on rights of way etc...
I could of course be 'way off the mark' and they just didn't know where to go!!!!!!

Fantastic news!! Got home today early doors and found “Howard’s Way” back on the box.
Seems like they were doing an omnibus from 9-12 on UK Drama.
Checked the SKY EPG, and it is on every night!
For young Boatmaders, the later episodes (P’boatracing stuff) are worth watching.
The BBC spent a few quid on the prog at the time and it was all good publicity for racing boats.

We worked on a crappy TV movie up Norfolk way and the yacht we used was the one from the show - nice boat but the lifting keel box was a bit intrusive in the cabin!
