Hi!

The max rpm of a 200 merc is 5600 RPM , some newer models have a little more , so 5750 or something.

I know what i am talking about - i had a 200 HP Merc Blackmax.

I would never override my engine - It is High-RPM-protected!

You can confirm this much earlier , not only when summer begins

Just download my propeller-tool

We talk about real speeds ( GPS ) and not what a pressure-meter will show to the driver.

Your boat is a good boat - so you can expect a slip of 6-8 % , so put the Tank to the back , you will get more bowlift !

greetings!
Andi

my 129 Fletcher with 75 hp Evinrude

Djb, I look forward to seeing the summer 2006 picture!!! Nice picture with the waterski

Andi: I am only telling you about to many rpm, because my old engine 75 hp Evinrude was in very bag sharp because, to many Rpm. But my 129 Fletcher an 75 Evinrude, 19’ prop, was fast an fun.

My next engine will an allround engine, not only speed but also waterski… therefore I will find an allround prop for it.

Burty: can you tell me the price of outboard engine I the USA maybe merc or Yamaha form 150 to 200 hp??????

Thats interesting....what prop would you recommend on my 16 gto with a 200hp merc?...its the brown band with chrome bores which i am told can rev to 5800 rpm...i,m told with a bit of tuning you can get them to rev to 8500rpm but you lose reliability!!!!

It currently revs over 6000 if i push it & trim it out....unfortunately i don,t know what size the existing prop is...there are no markings on it,but it is obviously propped for skiing

I was thinking of a lazer 23"...any comments

Yes , of course to much RPMs arent good - so i found a good alround prop for my setup , its a 20" Lightspeed - Good for Speed , good for Skiing!
This summer i want to make some tests - i remove my tank and put all the weight to the back , maybe i can turn a 22"

Just match the recommended RPMs with the Prop

greetings
Andi

Just try a 24" Chopper Prop , gives good bowlift and Speed , my brother drove this Prop to 70 mph at 5700 RPMs , so RPM max on his 225 YAM is 6000 , but in that situation ( boat was a little unstable ) it was hard to get higher.

greetings
Andi

remove the oil injection and stick with what you've got prop wise as you will safely turn 6500 all day long
