Great video. Just wondered what engines you are running on the back, as over here we are still running the good old 90 Yamaha in offshore 3B at the moment.

This is the last year we are allowed to have "old" enginges. Next year we must have EPA /CARB engines. Merc 150 Pro Xs or Evinrude 150 H.O are going to be popular!

Engines

We do have the same situation here with the 3b going over to the EPA engines. I take it the Z prefix denotes your V-150 class. We do have a 150 class over here but it is a one make series (only allowed to run etec 150ho's) and the boats are not allowed any form of step. If it is your V-150 class out of interest what are the basic rules, i.e min length, min weight etc.

No step or wings, the proppshaft must be atleast 2.5cm under the lowest point of the hull.

The boats have to be atleast 5.7m long LOA. A "cube" must be able to fit in the boat inside the hull at some place.

The "cube" is 2.35m wide 1.20m long 0.46m high. It is a imanginary cube, it does not have to be placed in the boat but it should fit inside. (if the boat is totally stripped from batteries etc.

Min weight with a 150 hp engine is 840 kg with driver and co criver.
Confusing? My english isnt the best :P

Just hit me with more questions

/Zander

Thanks Zander for that, it's not confusing at all, and to be fair your english is 100% better than my Swedish.

Just one more question, is the crew weight the same as 3b uim weight i.e 170kg.

Micheal

What was the reason for extending the tintorera? And what shape pad do you run?

We have change the rails slightly over here, but have kept the original concave shaped pad. We may be doing somemore development work on the hull over the winter once we actually get ourselves a benchmark on what it is doing speed wise at the moment.

The reason to make it longer we thought it would run better in rough seas and even look better than the orginal Tintorera ,we havent tested it so much yet it seems very stedy .And it is also very nice doing projects like this.

Thanks Micheal for the picture, it is very interesting to see how different people develop hulls. Hope it all goes okay for you and the boat works well. Stuart
