Yup, boats got wires running everywhere, ive got extension loom to fit merc ecu inside boat + mad ecu fits inside as well.
I'll get a pic or get hutchy to post one.

When measured as described by Cyco is the power measure at the flywheel? If it is then a power head should be allowed to produce upto approximatly 325 HP and still be legal.

Does that come with the MAD intake then as I've often wondered where the ECU goes when you have one of these fitted. The only Extension loom I've heard of is the Brucato one for the PCU, this would work with a factory merc ECU also.

So are the classes now based on maximum horse power rather than maximum cylinder capacity?

If so what are the limits for F1 and F3, how much power?

So are F1 and F2 Boats still allowed hydraulic lifters, kevlar, carbon fibre etc?

No hydraulic lifters allowed in F2 worlds, bracket allowed but may not be movable when in motion. This rule may well be adopted for F2 in GB and Europe in the near future.

World Rules F2:

(a) Hulls - Minimum length of hull shall be 18 ft or 5.48 metres

(b) This class is for outboards only

(c) Standard engines only, no racing or performance enhanced engines. The following is list of the accepted engines for the 2005 Championships:

Mercury Marine:

Optimax 200XS

Optimax 250XS

Promax 225X

2.5 EFI Sport

2.5 EFI SS

2.5 EFI Offshore

Promax 300 (1999 model and earlier )

Any existing engines in competition for national races world wide are eligible IF THEY MEET THE IWSF F-2 RULES FOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS.

Promax 300X and new Yamaha 300 are not eligible.

(d) Engine capacity – limit of 300 HP measured at the prop shaft or the equivalent in KW

(e) Standard legs only. No quick foots allowed

(f ) Must run standard manufacturer’s exhaust system

(g) All engines must have operational forward, neutral and reverse gears

(h ) Steering - Dual cable system with either dual rotary or dual rack helms should be fitted

(i) No mechanical means of height adjustment for the motor

(k) Shall be limited to commercially available Unleaded Pump Fuel. No Avgas, racing fuel or octane boosters allowed

In F3 bracket only allowed if the boat has no engine well.
Boat spec is open in F1 and F2 as long as it within the length limits

So could I race in F3 then with a bog standard 150 on a p21? Great, I better start clearing a space on the fireplace, how many do you get in F3, and I`m not taking the p*ss, as it does take my fancy. Anyone fancy skiing?

Didn't realise engines had to be kept under lock and cowl

I am more than happy to have my engine put on the dyno as long as every engine gets the same treatment!

No need to get personal mate, some one asked the rule for F2 and i told em, anybody CAN have their engine inspected and scrutineered for eligibility and as any one will tell you it is at the owners expense. All i am saying is if you advertise a worked engine some one will ask a question.
Me and the rest of the ski race MUPPETS will look forward to seeing you on the start line in 2006!
