Ring 18 but which model

I'm currently in the process of doing up this Ring 18 (I believe its an 18), and was under the impression it was the 18c as I have seen older models with a very squared off screen. However I am unsure now as to which model it is as a guy has an 18c hull for sale on here and although it looks identical the rear moulding is slightly different, also all the 18c and b's i have seen do not have a step in the hull this one does.

Heres some pics so far of my restoration.

I am about to fit a hydraulic lifter courtesy of RS Outboards and rich at RS Outboards has already fitted a CLE Lower unit on it. I have also fitted a twin cable steering system, I may go hydraulic later but this will do for now. I will then be painting the mid section black and adding the alien Cowl on it purely for asthetics.

I have checked under the dash area and there are no identification marks glassed into the fibreglass. also I have looked all around the transom area and there is no ID here either? Any help would be appreciated.

Ring 18C

Here's a recent photo of my Ring 18C since I re-engined it with a Yamaha 130 V4 at the end of last season.

And correct me if I'm wrong but I think the Ring in the background (Razamataz)was a 16 that lived in Lyme Regis in the mid 80s and was owned by Rod Hawkins (or his dad - he was quite young at the time).

Here are some pictures of my 21C. First pic is of it a few years ago, the second pic is one i spotted in a post card rack last year!

Final pic is John Evans' 21c from a few pages before on this thread. I am almost certain it is the same hull. Apart from the colour scheme, the Ring Logo is still there across the foredeck and the distinctive stainless grab rail down the middle of the foredeck.

ha ha yes, it was pretty weird. and yes, the chances were pretty low, even more so considering the time it doesn't spend in the water! Bought a whole load of them a sent them to all my friends.

was i think a 99 or a 00 with a merc xr2 was a nippy boat. handling wise. came close to doing a few superman impressions lol

next up, ranger 25 with a 6.2 merc was a good long distance mile muncher in most weathers

My 20a.
love the look, if only the screen wasn't so square, apart from that the shape is far nicer looking than my Phantom.
The rebuild is going well (ill post some pics in the gallery forum) but I will have to sell it once its finished as I have too many boats and im poor

My 21C with a 200 Black max (engine will be repainted).. Still looking for some new decals.

Does someone has some tips for extra setback? I have a 8" detwiler right now. But the steering hits the boat during lifting downwards.. Im thinking about adding a 4" setback between the transom and hydraulic lift.
