My Favorite Ring

Well somebody had to do it and I have brought the former Saber Ringcat.
It's had more work on it's bottom that Joan Collins, but it has lots of potential.
Never have I seen a boat with so much gel damage.
Transom was all pretty rotten, there were no drain holes in the tunnel and it was all sodden.
But she's now coming back together, new wood and GRP, new inner transom plate.
She had a pair of 135 litre tanks in the front on the sponsons, these are now gone with a new 145 litre tank just in front of the engine.
She has a 200 Opti on the back so will not bee too fast, hoping for upper/ mid 50's.
Interior was surprisingly good except all of the seat bases were rotten so they have all been replaced. Cushions had so much water in them you could hardly lift them!
Need to start to think about props and engine heights. She came with a laser 11 23P which doesn't really seem like the right prop.
Really hoping to be on the water in a few weeks.

If so, can you post a picture of how it is mounted? I assume the mounting go through the deck?

I have one from the stern quarter, will dig it out when I get back to the laptop. To be honest, the first job I did was take them off. Currently on sale on eBay.

Sorry, just realised I never replied to you post.

Yes, the pole goes though the deck and is mounted in a steel bracket bolted into the ply deck plate. It should be removable but it had rusted solid so I had to cut out the steel bracket to liberate the stainless pole.
I will have a new bracket made up in stainless so the pole will be removable and I can get the cover fitted flush.

The hull is solid but needs stripped out and cleaned up. It's still in its original gel coat with no evidence of painting or repair work.Engine will do for the moment but no doubt replace eventually.

It was advertised on ebay, came from Essex way. the boat and engine has done about 50hours since new, so I was told......! Although it's condition is like new. If a extreme 24 comes up for sale I would love to change.

Has someone experience with a 21C (200 Merc) and a Tempest prop?
