Max my guess about the holes in and pipes in the floor is the remains of a belly ballast tank, so when it was choppy the belly of the boat could be filled up with water, making the boat less flighty and keeping the COG very low down.
I recon the back one is the fill/dump and the 2 front would be the overflows,
block off 2 of the pipe/holes and pressureise throught the third, whether it be by just taking a deep breth and exhailing into it, or using a compressor etc just see whether it is sealed like a tank, if it is then i recon you could have urself a belly ballast tank.
Good luck with it either way dude

if your right, and i aint sure about that, a compressor would blow the floor off in an instant.
just a few psi would do it

Well I finally got my internet access back today.
I'm almost done tackling the mountain of bodywork!
still looking for a 1.3ltr engine,
trying to sort out number etc for racing.
a huge thankyou to matt and chaos for the grabners,

Yes I did,
cheers for that,
was thinking about it but it went today for £1400,
could have been a gd bargain, especially if i wasn't so tight on time.

Whoever said boats/racing is fun was a liar!
Steve Baker built boats which give you unbelievable determination merely by their physical looks!
Lee Way is a complete and utter nob for destroying half of a decent boat during whatever processes he put it through!
I'm running out of money.
Moreso running out of time.
But I will still be on that start line!!!!!

Cheers Jon,
I need a steering setup (which I'll order through work tomorrow),
I need some fuel tanks (which I can get after I find out the motor's gph at work tomorrow)
I need some general rigging bits and safety gear such as kill switches/flares etc (which are all accessible in cowes/through work)
I need my suit which is on order,
I need the deck to be sprayed ( I should finish the bodywork and get it to the spray shop tomorrow evening)
I need two bucket seats! cheap, preferably composite construction, (really annoying when I've got the moulds, just not time to make a pair!)
and I need the time to put into it!
I'm gonna bust my balls and try and get it in the water at work on saturday!
this should be a fun week!
Working at a boat repair workshop is not fun in Cowes Week!
