If I was a betting man I would say that one of them hooked or span out and the other boat T boned him.
Whatever happened it's going to take some sorting out!
I think the Cougar cat had some Turkish origins, maybe they are similar?

I just wondered how they got two interlocked cats back to port without loss ?
