Thanks for sharing these pics Billy, and welcome to Boatmad.com.

Have you checked out our gallery/media section? there are a good few thousand great pics (though mainly European racing stuff) and dozens of historic videos.

Charlie McCarthy also posts on here from time to time.

Cheers

Welcome to Boatmad.
Correct me if i'm wrong, but I thought "Bounty Hunter" was a 35' and not a 36'. It has the flared sides of the 35'/37' and not the slab sides of the 36'.
I remember watching Bounty Hunter in the CTC many years ago.

Some question about the Hustlers.
-Your father made him debut in offshore races in 1968 with a Formula 23’ single engine named Hustler like the picture that you have posted above show?

-In 1970 or in 1969,your father competed in a Magnum 27’ with a tandem sites cockpit and single engine named Hustler II(maybe the former Maltese Magnum 27’ of Don Aronow in 1967)?

-In 1971 appeared the Hustler IV a Magnum 33’ with double engines, but there aren’t news about an Hustler III.
-In 1972 appeared Hustler III as a Magnum 27’single engine. It’s right?
-In the same 1972 there were two Magnum 33’,Hustler IV competing in OPI and Hustler V competing in OPII. It’s right?
The two 33’ were very similar but with two different decks. Wasn’t the same boat with modified deck in a second time?

Hey Graham,

There were 7 Bounty Hunters in all. There were 35' 36' 39' 40's The One we have now 36' Does have flared sides but was a custom built boat for my father from Don. There is only one that looks the way ours does, to my knowledge.

Aaron, I Stand Corrected, the 27' Magnum was Aronows Old Boat, Although Dad is thinking back and is not sure if it was the Maltese Magnum. He's Gonna make a call to make sure of facts lol

Thanks Billy.......I was thinking it was this boat that Don raced in '68....?

I am assuming this has to be one of the first 27 Magnums (Sport)?.......if not the first?

Which "Bounty Hunter" is it in your avatar? I ask because my dad has some 12th scale moulds for cigarettes. The 40' you raced, was it flared or slab sided? I know the early 40's were slab sided and the later 38's and 39's were flare sided. Some Pics would be good.
Cheers,
Graham.

Hi Billy Martin,
here the Hustler V; was it the former Hustler IV with a modified deck or a new boat?
