It has a bow tank but we didn't use it for that race. We tried a new prop (26P thru-hub cleaver) and liked it quite a bit. 6800rpm and roughly 72mph. We used to run a Yamaha drag-copy but will stick with the thru-hub cleavers from now on - with the Yam we used the bow tank. Hull is from 92/93.

Yam copy was a 27P. From what I've seen I'd try to find yourself a nice cleaver and go from there. We have two Winrace thru-hub cleavers (23 and 26P) as well as a 27P over-hub cleaver - all are better all around props than the Yam copy we have. With the 23 Winrace we were well above 7k. We run the motor on a jackplate. 20" mid. 2.00 CLE gear case. The Yam copy makes the bow very flighty and so we're always filling/dumping the bow tank. With the cleavers we don't fill the tank (no need to due to extra stern lift) and so that might be a better/cheaper option for you to consider. The over-hub gave us an extra 1mph over the thru-hubs and 2-3mph over the Yam copy.
