Phantom 21 / 250xs
Hi,
I bought a Phantom 21 last year and just thought I share some experienses with the "Phantom Forum".
I was looking to buy a boat from the Uk but while I was looking this one came along.
The boat is a -93 model I belive, and have not been raced here in Sweden so she is in very good condition for her age.
She is rigged with a Mercury 250xs w sportmaster on a 5,5 inch manual lift, seastar pro steering and Sture Sjöberg foot throttle.
This year Iv'e been testing some different props and engine hights.
Today I'm running the best prop Iv'e testet so far, a B&B Razor3 27p with a shortend barrel.
As we dont get the same kind of seas and swells as you guys do I found that a good hight is propshaft cc 15mm above the pad. This gives me ok holeshot and good top end. With some small chops she runs 75+ knots every time and a bit faster if you put your mind to it and push.
Here are some pics and clips,

I really cant get why theese boats arent more popular over here, I don't know about a lot of other boats you can drive so fast in really most conditions

... me too, thats what im sayin, specified speed needs 10% slip only, but p21 with engine height like descripted will never reach that low slip

I don't think the motor is that high with 5.5 inches of setback.I think it would equate to below the pad if bolted direct to the transom.Just my thoughts tho.

The engine is a stock 250xs with just under 100 hours and everything is mesured with gps. I have the Garmin 420 hooked up to the smartcraft speedo as well, this gives me a good view of the fuelconsuption.
I get the slip to 8%.
I have not calculated with correction for the setback, I just mesure the hight as she sits with the setback.
I didn't post here to lie about anything, but we don't have the same swells as you guys do so it's not a problem to go WOT for longer periods of time. And as long as I dont have her rigged to low chinewalking is not much of a problem, just small corrections.
Thats one of the reasons I really like this boat, you can go very fast without the boat wanting to kill you, and you can push it if you want it to be dangerus.
But there is a big differnce with passengers, the boat won't lift as much and it's difficult to get over 73-74 knots.
Some more pics from this winter. Old fueltank and new.

good quick hull
looks really nice sat up on her ass end dude, and i dont doubt your speed at all, and as for using the old calculator to work out how fast you own set up goes is FAR FAR beyond me, unless these people are like god or yoda or some extream being that could of been there in spirit working out wind over tide and all that jazz i dont know but fair play you have it going very well.
Been in plenty of phantoms doing over 80 pluss mph, sat in the back of a phantom in holmpeirpoint some 15 odd years ago doing well in the mid 80's mph as a boy driven by the very capable Jb, boats was called martainglass owned by mike shave, was one of the quickest f2's around in the day, and i think im right in saying that the bubbulinhot team had some very quick phantoms, would be nice to see some pictures of them boats again if any one has any about?
