Hey John, Yes I did get to see the engine on the dyno at the Seatek factory but didn't see it run. If the horsepower is kept to a reasonable limit say 750 per bank it could be an amazing race engine. Problem is it's over cubes for a twin installation. I vote to raise the Diesel cube limit in Marathon

Hi Jim, it's a Seatek, which are race bred from the ground up, a Buzzi / Bonomi tie up from the 80's. So not 'based' on anything except Seatek.

I don't think the V12 was actually as powerful as you'd think (bearing in mind the 10.3 litre 6 Cylinder biturbo motor topped at I think 1350hp for class 1/2 use, that's what Andreas Uglands classII boat 'Jotun' was alleged to be).
Still, looks nice.

Gary Knowlenden knows more about them.

Thanks Jon I think I knew it was a Seatek, but I would have thought it was based on some ones V12 block, as it takes lots of money to build an V12 engine from the ground up.
It is wonderful looking motor.

I think Carlo Bonomi and his family are quite 'flush' (understatement). As I understand it, he was the financier of Seatek.
