Daren, firstly, the post wasn't aimed at you, or any 'one' person! It was aimed generaly at those in the discussion who think they should dictate how much a specialist company should charge, for a virtually unique service, and If that price were not attained, to club together, buy 'one' copy, and share it, effectively, ripping him off, and almost certainly ensuring the 24th June 2006 was the last time any of us get the chance of a nice aerial shot(s) of our boats.

How many helicopter based, aerial photography opportunities have you all previously had, and how many do you expect in the future?

In reply to you though, a straighforward question would be "How much is that video mate?"

A straightforward answer could be "OK, I'll have a copy" ...or "Na, too steep for me dude, I'll leave it ta".

Remember, this site is open to the world, and I've no doubt Alalstair has had a peep himself. Is he likely to make the effort & investment in another shoot of a boatmad event having read all this?...I hope so, but to be honest, I doubt it.

Out of interest, how many people bought pictures from Alastair of the Poker run? I know Matt bought 3, and think Mamboking also got some, who else spent cash with him?

In conclusion, this is an open forum on the tinterweb and the world & his uncle can see it, so please don't broadcast stuff here that could harm the status quo with people like Alastair, who are offering such a rare opportunity to ALL of us, as those of us who didn't get any pics of our boat, would like to think we may get some next time, if there is a next time.

I think I'm right in saying, that 'Marine Helicopters' is a pretty new company, so probably needs decent cash flow to stay in business, and is certainly not some multi-national, that can 'suck' on getting 'rogered', from time to time.
Ive bought a photo such a top notch picture ill never expect to get another one so happy with, its on my lounge wall already.

Sorry for the hornets nest!!

Being only a junior member & only recently found this site, I have spent some time reading through previous threads and posts.

It would appear that some members are a little hypocritical.

It would appear to copy a boat design is called splashing and is the equivilant to being a multiple rapist. Where as copying a vidoe taken from a helicopter, where the pilot has risked his life and his license (clearly too low for CAA rules) is absolutely fine!

Morally strange or am I missing something? Are there another set of rules for powerboaters, admittedly with fast good looking boats!

No CAA rules were broken. We should thank marinehelicopters for getting approval from the CAA to use a Robinson R22 making it possible for all us to get great pictures at good prices. Lets all be nice and we might get them on the next poker run, but somehow I doubt it.
This thread should end here.
