That's Miles's Cougar innit? twoz the working 'plug' that Cougar did and originally had a 650 efi Lamborgini pleasure motah fitted.

Then got the second hand motah(s) from 'Lethal Magic' (see the 'A bit of lethal magic' thread)

As in the rather weak and short of breath 2 valve motors (the lambos that is)

Bizarrely I was reading WOP last night that reported the oil drum engine cover, but they didn't have a photo of it - hutchy must be a mind reader

The gent with the eyepatch - Ed Williams-Hawke - navigated for me at Cardiff last year in the V24 race. I think we finished 3rd in a gale. Twas really really rough, and Ed did not complain once about the bumpy ride.....

Ed is a pretty 'well seasoned' racer.

Starting a hot V8 does take ages but it doesnt mean there is a problem...The engine has to be cold cranked until oil pressure builds THEN ignition on and go. The money teims use pre-lube..

The following was the start procedure for our blower motors. Instructions came from the builders, Express Racing engines.

Ign. off - bump engine on starter
Ign off - Spin engine 15 seconds - pause 15 seconds - spin engine 15 seconds
Ign off - Pump throttle one full pump and then 1/2 pump
Return to idle position

Ign on - Start engine

If no start, another full pump on throttle and return to idle position, and engage starter

Idle at 1500 - 2000 revs for 2-3 minutes

DO NOT PUMP THROTTLE WHEN STARTING ENGINE !!
