The last time I saw that boat advertised, they weren't sure it was a cigarette. I don't know enough abut cigarette's to make a judgement call myself.

Its definitely not a 40' Cigarette. The hull is the wrong shape. It has no step up towards the rear of the deck. If it is a cigarette, it is more probably a 35' or a 37'. Though it might even be a Scarab similar to Paul Clauser / Betty Cook.

Yeah, the bigger Sigs (40) had quite a step in the gunnel didn't they. of course, the add could well be wrong, and it's shorter than 40.
So many yank boats of that era (and later) shared that running surface and top sides, it's hard to know what your looking at!
Freeboard looks pretty low too, rather like the earlier Sigs, but it has the crease half way up the topsides like the later models, so who knows!

I was wondering whether it is the old 37' Peter Stuyvesant Boat. It seem to disappear off the face of the earth after MLD went broke. Obviously if it is, it has been redecked at some stage. I don't know of any other 37' or 35' that were raced by brits in this country.

The boat is a Squadron XII 39 hull no starts with an XEX, differs from a Cigarette only by having wider running strakes and thus giving a rougher ride which neither Bobby Saccenti or Don Aronow himself liked.
The mold was scrapped after Don bought Cig back in 1983 , This boat is a 81 by the hull no.
Otherwise looks identical to a 39 Cig and is a Aronow for what it´s worth.
Rumor has that when Don sold Cigarette he didn´t include in the list of sale some molds the 39 being one, it´s a stretch of 35 Mistress with a goofed up center of gravity like every stretch.
Needs Tons of LOOT and CASH....

Yeah they sure do...
I was looking into this Squadron and a 38KV MV edition both projects but thought I better cool my head and get some real dough to buy a boat instead...ok Then I´ll run head over heels over a bare 47 Apache or something
But honestly that Squadron need much more than the 38KV I mean it is stripped of everything.
For 55K euros you could get it running...for the same price you can buy running and complete Scarabs in Fine shape.

Yep ...got that right Nige...
If I´d have the time and motivation I´d gone and bought both of them. Kept the Squadron as a static too as it´s interior and Cockpit is just like an 35 Mistress...a Scarab has a WAY bigger interior...like at least 4 feet those feet you can find on the Squadron engine room & Sundeck.
I hate to see boats left to their fate...
Also when I see one I get interested about what the story is about the boat/model.

Whats in it?
Actually I´m into 38-up sized boats as I need some space below deck too.
Plus some length to fit between the wavelenghts.
